Senior IT Officer

Duties and Responsibilities:  

Position Summary  

  • The Senior IT Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's IT infrastructure, maintenance, and security of IT systems and services, and optimizing the use of technology and information systems to support business objectives. This role includes leading IT projects, managing IT staff, and ensuring the security and efficiency of IT systems.  
  • The Senior IT Officer is responsible for the smooth operation of an organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes configuring and managing cloud services, troubleshooting IT issues, and providing direct support to employees for any technology-related concerns.  
  • In charge of implementing IT system enhancements and modifications, managing the IT inventory, and ensuring the organization’s IT processes align with business goals.  
  • Additionally, Senior IT Officer play a key role in employee onboarding/offboarding, training users on new systems, and maintaining vendor relations and license management. And supports the overall productivity and efficiency of the company by ensuring that all team members have the IT resources they need to perform their duties effectively.  
  1. IT Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Oversee the daily operations of the IT & MIS department. 
  • Support in developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, and development. 
  • Ensure IT infrastructure and applications availability, reliability, and security. 
  • To monitor the internet connection and coordinate with the ISP. 
  • To monitor site-to-site VPN connections for branch offices to ensure smooth end-user transactions.
  • To develop, deploy, monitor, manage, maintain, upgrade, and support all ICT systems, infrastructure, databases, hardware, and software.
  • Monitoring and ensuring that the organization's IT systems and infrastructures are well functioning, safe, and secure from unauthorized access. 
  • Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery. 
  • Implementing security measures and basic testing. 
  • Manage/assist with installing, configuring, and upgrading computer hardware, software, antivirus, security CCTV cameras, systems, networks, printers, and scanners in all company operations offices. 
  • Support, and troubleshoot internet, system, and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults across the branches through actions, face-to-face or remote support, or travel as needed. 
  • Review, procure, install, manage, and maintain all IT equipment. 
  • Support related tasks of IT equipment purchasing and setting up new branches. 
  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance and upgrades. 
  • Check computers and other equipment for electrical safety.
  • Assessment of hardware, and network requirements for branches. 
  • Provide related project management activities on IT & Other Department projects. 
  • Implement and monitor system security measures, including antivirus and firewall protocols. 
  • Support in developing and maintaining vendor relations and license management. 
  • Engage in research for new software/tools to support purchasing efforts. 
  • Maintaining IT documentation and inventory. 
  • Manage and keep track of IT equipment. 
  • Respond promptly to service issues and requests. 
  • Test and evaluate new technology.
